SISSAF has joined the Global Coalition for GREEN SCHOOLS in Lebanon

SISSAF has joined the Global Coalition for GREEN SCHOOLS in Lebanon, a certification program dedicated to help schools in Lebanon to help them evolve and become part of the increasingly rising Green communities. The collaboration between SISSAF and GREEN SCHOOLS extends further SISSAF's Energy awareness campaign and will help future generations to become responsible citizens all whilst being progressively rewarded for their school achievements, and commitment to protecting the environment.

The GREEN SCHOOLS programme is provided by e-EcoSolutions – an environmental consultancy firm, as the initiative is supported by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Environment, and the Global Coalition of Green Schools – Lebanon. The programme is moving ahead very fast and effectively by November 2015, about 121 private and public schools have joined the initiative.

The EU-Funded Project SISSAF has already prepared an Energy awareness campaign via the webplatform www.save-energy-lebanon.com, to empower the social and environmental responsibility of citizens through useful tips on Energy Saving and Renewable Energy, with a special kids’ corner and a drawing contest in collaboration with Fabriano.

The campaign is part of the technical assistance and support provided to the Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) and SISSAF will distribute DVDs to all Lebanese schools. SISSAF’s experts will be also visiting classrooms to give presentations on Energy Saving and Renewable Energy. Drawing competitions for schools will be also held as part of the awareness campaign
