Kick-off meeting on the launch of studies for the rehabilitation of Dbayyeh, Jbeil and Nahr Ibrahim water treatment plants in Beirut

The European Union funded project SISSAF is providing technical assistance to Beirut Mount Lebanon Water Establishment (BMLWE) in the studies for the rehabilitation of Dbayyeh, Jbeil and Nahr Ibrahim Water Treatment Plants. This project will contribute to improve the efficiency of the 3 Water Treatment Plants and the water supply for approximately 2 million inhabitants in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

The project will start on March 14th, 2016 for a period of 28 weeks. The studies will cover 3 phases:

  • Phase 1: Assessment 
  • Phase 2: Conceptual design and 
  • Phase 3: Detailed design and preparation of Tender Documents

The kick-off meeting will take place at Dbayyeh Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and will gather the Chairman of the Board – Director General of Beirut Mount Lebanon Water Establishment (BMLWE) Eng. Joseph Nseir, European Union Delegation First Counselor, Head of Section – Sustainable Development Mr. Marcello Mori, BMLWE respective staff and SISSAF Team of Experts.
