The EU-funded SISSAF project are organizing a series of training seminars on “Fundamentals of Performance Based Budgeting (PBB) in the framework of sector Middle Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF)” for Lebanon's Public Finance System.

The training will be held on July 19 – 21, 2016 and will take place at Radisson Blu Martinez Hotel Phoenicia Street, Ain El Mreisseh. The event will start from 10:00 AM.

The trainings is in line with RESULT 3 on the MTEF instrument as an annual, rolling three year-expenditure planning tool. It sets out the medium-term expenditure priorities and hard budget constraints against which sector plans can be developed and refined. The training will also cover activities under RESULT 5, on the establishment of a sector specific Performance Monitoring System.

Representatives from the budget departments from the Ministry of Energy and Water, Ministry of Finances, and the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation will participate in the training sessions. Technical staff from Lebanon's four Water Establishments, the Litani River Authority and other budget beneficiaries will also join the training.

The upcoming session is a continuation of the training for “Establishment of a Sector Budget and its Medium term Expenditure Framework (MTEF)” held on December 1-3 in Lebanon, last year.
